MRI ANNOUNCES NEW MACAVITY AWARD

Mystery Readers International has announced a new Macavity Award--the Sue Feder Macavity Award for Historical Fiction. The award honors the memory and work of Sue Feder, reviewer, scholar and dedicated mystery fan. This annual award will be nominated and voted on by members of MMRI and presented at Bouchercon each year.

Sue founded the Historical Mystery Appreciation Society with its quarterly journal, Murder Past Tense, dedicated to Ellis Peters. Sue wrote reviews for Deadly Pleasures and Mystery Readers Journal and was a member of DapaEm for many years. HMAS bestowed the Herodotus Award, and the Sue Feder Historical Mystery Award continues this tradition in her memory.

Sue Feder died on September 9, 2005 after a long battle with leukemia. Cluelass applauds this decision by MRI to honor Sue Feder by continuing this award.

For more information on Mystery REaders International go to their website at http://www.mysteryreaders.org
