Sue Feder Dies
Long time mystery fan and reviewer Sue Feder died on September 9. Feder lived in the Baltimore area.
Feder was an enthusiastic fan and lover of mystery, especially historical mystery. She was the founder of the Historical Mystery Appreciation Society (HMAS), and the Ellis Peters Appreciation Society (Peters was the creator of the popular Brother Cadfael series) for which she produced the journal "Most Loving Mere Folly". A Brooklyn native, Feder edited and put her heart into publications including Murder: Past Tense, the quarterly journal of HMAS, and shared her enthusiasm by creating the historical mystery award, the Herodotus. Since 1988, she had contributed reviews to various publications including “Deadly Pleasures”, “Mystery*File” and numerous others and until illness forced her to curtail her activities, attended conventions, socializing and participating in and moderating panel discussions,.
