Hammett Prize Announced
HONOR'S KINGDOM by Owen Parry won the Hammett Prize, awarded by the North American Branch of the International Association of Crime Writers. Other nominees were JOLIE BLON'S BOUNCE, James Lee Burke , THE EIGHTH DAY, John Case, FLYKILLER, J. Robert Janes, and BAD BOY BRAWLY BROWN, Walter Mosley. The award was given on June 14, in Ottawa, during the Bloody Words Conference banquet.

Barry Award Nominations 2003
Barry Gardner was the quintessential mystery fan and when he died, George Easter, who publishes Deadly Pleasures, put together an award in his honor. The nominees are chosen by a committee of knowledgable folks; votes are by subscribers to Deadly Pleasures. The winners will be announced at Bouchercon in October.
